" SEVEN OUT OF TEN OF PATIENTS TREATED WITH PAIN PROCEDURES REPORT AT LEAST 50% IMPROVEMENT IN THEIR PAIN "

My Philosophy

Seven out of ten of patients treated with pain procedures report at least 50% improvement in their pain while up to half of patients with lower back pain may remain in pain after surgery. Therefore my philosophy along with my research and experience working with patients, shows that early intervention and minimally invasive techniques can improve pain and should be explored as options before surgery.

I work in partnership with the patient to listen to their thoughts and concerns and to  understand their experience.  Through ongoing and clear communication I work to identify a realistic and honest treatment programme.

I also believe in  working  with other medical professionals such as physiotherapists, psychologists, and surgeons to provide the best holistic therapy for the patient. Not everyone experiences pain in the same way, and I believe that a personalised treatment programme is required for all my patients.

What is Pain?

Pain is an unpleasant sensation ranging from mild discomfort to a debilitating condition that drastically affects the patient’s life.

Pain Specialist Dublin

There are two types of pain — acute or chronic. Acute pain usually arises from an injury, such as a broken arm or twisted ankle. It may be severe, but short-lived, and the source of the pain is often (though not always) apparent.

Chronic pain may be constant or intermittent. The source of chronic pain can be due to many issues and a full recovery may not always be possible. My expertise allows me to work with the patient to understand the root cause and recommend the best treatments possible to manage chronic pain.
